Currently Cover:
This is a period where you can enroll in or change your health insurance plan.
If you undergo a major life change (like getting married or having a child), you might be able to take advantage of this additional time outside of Open Enrollment to change your health insurance.
HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) plans typically have lower premiums and out-of-pocket costs but require you to choose a primary care physician and have referrals to see specialists.
PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans allow you to see any healthcare provider without a referral but usually have higher premiums.
EPO (Exclusive Provider Organization) plans are a hybrid of HMO and PPO plans as they cover only in-network care but do not require referrals to see specialists.
POS (Point of Service) plans require that you choose a primary care provider and get referrals for specialists, but offer some coverage for out-of-network care.
HDHPs (High Deductible Health Plans) have lower premiums but higher deductibles and are often paired with a HSA (Health Savings Account) which allows you to save money tax-free for medical expenses.
Catastrophic plans are available to people under 30 years old or who have a hardship exemption. They have very low premiums and very high deductibles, and cover limited care.
We’ll help you understand your options from your employer, the marketplace, your parents, or through your spouse.
